Scrooge McDuck

(No more!)

It's been a well known fact at our house for years that mom hates to wrap gifts.
There's been someone in the house for 30+ years willing to wrap, so I didn't have to.
Below are some of my early attempts to be creative.

But this year, not only do I have to do my own wrapping, I'm actually excited to!
Thanks to Pinterest!

Earlier this year, I saw the cutest wrapping idea and pinned it to a secrets folder.
Well the secret is out and so I can share. What a great idea!

You can find the original link here
and her FB page here.
Thanks Abby!

This totally satisfies the photo junkie in me!
No commercialized paper, squished bows or tags and you still know who it's for!

Had so much fun taking way too many photos, when someone got jealous!

First he came over and knocked over one of the small packages with his nose.
Then he just kept giving me the grumpy look!

Finally, he just plopped down and looked at me.
He seemed to be saying that he is part of the family too and why wasn't I taking his picture.
Which is especially funny because he hates his picture taken. Haha...

After a few snuggles and showing him that he has his own ornament on the tree,
he seemed perfectly happy again.

From our family to yours,

Wishing you a Merry Christmas
and a
Happy New Year!

Why Penguins Waddle
(According to Lori)

This past winter, I had a problem with my shoulder in which I couldn't move my arm very well. As it progressed, I couldn't even swing it back and forth while walking as one normally does. One day, while holding my arm close to my body and walking, I realized that I was kind of waddling. Kind of like a penguin! So I tested this theory out a little more by walking with swinging arms and without. Of course, one can walk straight without swinging their arms but it gives us a natural balance & rhythm to our stride.

So this epiphany hit me: this must be why penguins waddle, they can't swing their fins, only flap them!

Epiphany - a sudden, intuitive perception of or insight into the reality or essential
meaning of something, usually initiated by  some simple, homely, or
commonplace occurrence or experience.

Pay close attention at 0:38 in the video.

I have absolutely no scientific evidence to support this idea
but if you know of any, please let me know.

Oh, and just for the record, my arm is back to normal so I'm not waddling anymore!

MeLissa & Matt
Married
9.17.11
Her rings & dress were gorgeous!
Yes, she has two rings! One for work and one for everything else!
That's a whole lotta' dress!
Finishing touches.
Matt said he had waited many years for this day.
They were high school sweethearts and

I even saw their prom pictures.
They are so perfect together!
A very Happy Couple!
They just couldn't stop smiling!
Poking a little fun at the groom...
and a little tickle for the bride!
Down at Fayette...
for a little old-fashion fun.
The veggie cups were colorful AND scrumptious!

MeLissa's beautiful bouquet!

There were so polite!
